This surely will be my last post here for quite a while but I couldn't leave it without being as complete as I could be.

I hope this covers most of what you would find scouring the Internet. In any case, this effort will shorten any search you might make for sources.

Stefan Buecker obviously does not want to promote his high quality Kaissiber Magazine here at CP so I have to do this for the Bird's sake:

Finally, I forgot to mention the playable eBook A00-A03 which includes Bird's Opening as well as the Nimzo-Larsen Attack. This ongoing project is updated to July 2004 and should be due for another update soon, I would think.

There's also "Die Bird-Eröffnung" by Rolf Schwarz in the "Handbuch der Schacheröffnungen" series, if I remember correctly (in German). I don't know if I still have it somewhere in a box or if I've lost it over the years, so I can't check publisher nor year, I just remember that when I purchased it at around 1980, it was already quite dated. Between 120 and 150 pages, I would say. Probably Stefan would have more exact data.  Smiley

Schwarz' book appeared in 1960 (publisher: Rattmann), and was reprinted 1997 (without changes) by Fruth.

Another book I liked was R. E. Robinson: 1.P-KB4 (A Guide to Bird's Opening), published ~1949 or maybe 1950 (?), which covered the classical version of the Bird Opening.

And there had been three articles on 1.f4 in the periodical Cuadernos Teóricos de la revista Ajedrez, by Editorial Sopena Argentina, issues 30-32 (1976-77).

What do people mean when they say "Chess is the pawn of the soul"?
