I thought this was called the Pillsbury variation. It is advocated in "The open games for black" (by Lysyj), although personally I prefer 4...Bc5

To me it seems to be one of Black's more dynamic tries once 4...Bb4 has been played.

Paul Keres played Ne7 vs the Four Knights mainline (4 Bb5 Bb5 5 d3 d6 6 0-0 0-0 7 Bg5 Ne7). I'm always a bit reluctant to let White double my pawns like this, but I think the N on g6 makes the structure tenable? I have the Pinski book but he doesn't explain much, just says that Ne7 is a safe equaliser and shows one or two lines with the doubled pawns. So what do you think of this line? thanks
