I would say, a nice April fool's trick! Yesterday was Sunday, right ...?

Just one point: Even if one manages to reduce the number of 10100 to 1010 (ten billions), and takes this as the exponent of Rajlich's 99.99999999% certidude, it remains a rather meagre 37 %.

But I would never claim to be a specialist for chess engines, and therefore half of the article was written in Ch(ess)ine(Ba)se (from my point of view). So maybe somebody here in the forum with more knowledge will come to different conclusions  Undecided

Best regards,

According to the intro to the article on the ChessBase website:

'On March 31 ...  Vasik Rajlich moved to a new appartment in Budapest, Hungary... The next day ... Vas, kindly agreed to the following interview'

If he moved on March 31 and gave this interview the 'next day', that means the interview took place on April 1.

I suspect this might be significant ...

Surprising conclusions:

http://chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=8047

1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Be2! The only move that leads to a draw.
3.Bc4 Nf6! and White loses.
3.Nf3 is indeed winning for Black. d6! In fact , Fischer's main line holds up incredibly well:
For instance the more popular 3...g5 allows White to draw after 4.h4!
4.Bc4 h6! 5.d4 g5! (an exclam denotes any move which gives a better theoretical result than every alternative)
3...d5 4.exd5! and White can hold a draw against any attack Black can play.

The older, the better - over 2200 and still rising.
