Thank you everyone. I will at these and comment if I find anything interesting.

P.S. It was 7.d4, not 7.e4

Sorry.

Yes, 7. Nc3 looks good too. And when playing this line I do not think White should play e4 so early. There will be a gap on d4 and as happened in the original post's blitz game, Black successfully played ...e5, which wins control for the central dark squares, and especially the two diagonals a7-g1 and a1-h8.

I agree that White has an edge in that position, but why not 7.Nc3 instead of 7.a4? 7...cxb5 is then met by 8.Nxb5 with an awful pawn structure for Black.

After 4.e3 c5 White could play 5.bxc5 Nc6 6.Bb2 transposing to the 4.Bb2 variation I gave, or better still 5.exd4 since 5...cxd4 6.Bb2 d3 (6...Nc6 7.b5) 7.Qb3 Bf5 8.Ne5 will win the d-pawn.

4.e3 also looks good, since it seems to achieve the compensation Black desires in the Blumenfeld Gambit without sacrificing a pawn.  Wink

Indeed!  Wink
..Though never played in a game till now..  Sad
A possible variation can be 1.Nf3 d5 2.c4 d4 3.b4 Nf6?! 4.e3!? dxe3 (What else?! 4...c5 looks too risky for black) 5.fxe3... And now what? Maybe 5...Bf5 6.Nc3 e6 7.a3 a5 8.b5... which looks better for white.  Cool
Edit: In case of 4...c5 white can play 5.Bb2 dxe3 6.fxe3 cxb4 and now 7.Be2!? looks better than the standart 7.a3... thus achieving a fast development after 8.0-0 and a good play along the f-file.  Wink

White sound have a favourable position due to a space advantage.

In the 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 c5 3.d5 b5 4.Bg5 variation, 4...Bb7 is a main line, so I don't see what is wrong with 4.Bb2 here. Against 4...c5 I think 5.bxc5 is a better way to make use of the extra tempo than 5.e3, which transposes to the Blumenfeld Gambit but where White's extra tempo isn't that useful since after a3 bxa3 White will not be able to ignore the pawn on a3 like he often does in the Blumenfeld (with reversed colours). After 5.bxc5, the obvious 5...Nc6 6.e3 e5 (what else?) is well met by 7.Nxe5 Nxe5 8.exd4 which looks like massive compensation for the piece.

4.e3 also looks good, since it seems to achieve the compensation Black desires in the Blumenfeld Gambit without sacrificing a pawn.  Wink

Spontaneously, I feel Bb2 feels like a response that suits Black. In the Benoni, Black won't often play ...Bb7, especially that early.

A strong opponent played as black 1.Nf3 d5 2.c4 d4 3.b4 Nf6?! (not in Delchevs book) against me on FICS, I continued 4.Bb2 c5 5.e3 de 6.fe cb 7.e4?! e5! 8.Nxe5?! Bd6 and black was happy.

What is best line against 3.-Nf6?
