Btw, the problematic balloons on the index page - what purpose do they serve??

I was wondering the same. I'd almost rather they weren't there at all. I noticed the font problem also, in the word Reti in the Flank Openings Description on the main index page, though that one has since been fixed.

There is a calendar we can add to the site if we want, with events and Members birthdays on, does anyone want to try this? Undecided

Maybe a world wide tournament calender - if anyone wants to manage it?

Btw, the problematic balloons on the index page - what purpose do they serve??

Btw2, another little bug seems to be a font problem - there are some ?-icons showing up in different texts, sometimes. the 3 Swedish extra letters å ä ö among them, not here but in the text to the left...

Something else I noticed: in Chrome and Firefox if you hover over a message you get a nice balloon with the message text in it, but on MSIE (version 11) nothing! Angry

I asked an expert and it seems that 'Members have the option to turn on and off the topic balloon. ()' it's true, very neat, this button is just above the posts on the left of Subject/Started By. Wink

One of the major improvements is the use of sub-boards which will mean we can divide the openings into sub variations (for example, in the French section we can have one board for Winawer, one for Tarrasch, etc.) which should greatly help navigation on the Forum.

I'm going to start adding more of these, and thoughts on which ones and any added info like ECO codes, etc. are very welcome.
Moving the threads is an enormous job so any help from Moderators would be much appreciated - dom has already suggested helping with the French.

I suggest reducing the size of the speech bubbles down the left margin. 50%. Huge, currently overpowering.

They look Ok to me, I guess you mean the board.png icons (right-click and then 'properties' to get this) on the Board Index?
I can look into making these smaller if there is enough demand?! Undecided

I'm using Chrome but have the same experience as TonyRo - some are correct but several get "1.d4 d5" or "1.e4 e5 non Spanish" and D-pawn Specials becomes "Anti Sicilians" iirc...

OK, that narrows things down a bit - if we're not logged in we get the extra balloons, and the correct balloons on the board index, and if we are logged in we get just the faulty balloons on the chat bubbles! Cry

Slight bug - when I hover over the big chat bubble to the left of all of the forums, about half of them tool-tip "1.d4 d5" instead of their real title.

It's funny, I've just checked this with Chrome and Firefox, and they are both fine! So, it seems to be a MSIE problem. Roll Eyes

Only for not wasting time : can I start creating 'Sub-boards' in the French forum (one suboard for ECO code or ECO code range) and dispatch current threads in those sub-boards or will you Tony ?

I think only I can make the sub boards, but you should be able to move the threads across. Thanks for the offer of help, I'll add some more sub-boards now, the Tarrasch and what else?

Have a look at the design of isohunt.to perhaps for size of icons there.

What happened to the ChessPub foaming tankard top right? I see just 'YaBB 2.6' -- is it just me?

Well, it's come back Cheesy but I had to change the header's background colour to White. Undecided

That's weird, I will try to fix it.

No, I noticed this too. I may have to adjust our old code.

I haven't got around to personalising the template yet. Will do this tonight. Smiley
