There are four games with 11...Nh6 in my database, including Jones-Williams, Icelandic Team Championship 2011! On his blog Gawain called Simon's response with 11...Nh6 12.Ne4 Nf5 13.Nxc5 Qd5 14.Qxd5 cxd5 'an interesting counter and we reached an interesting endgame.' I've given a possible improvement for White over the game.

I really don't understand why everybody (Jones, Bologan, Van Wely...) today suggest playing following line:

1.e4 c5
2.Sf3 Sc6
3.Lb5 d6
4.Lc6 bc
5.0-0 Lg4
6.h3 Lh5
7.e5 de
8.g4 e4
9.gh ef
10.Sc3

The statistics are not very convincing und computers think the position ist balanced, possible even a little bit better for black.

Houdini 2 thinks that

10.Sc3 Dd7
11.Df3 Sh6

the best answer is, with the plan to bring the knight over f5 to d4

the only game in my database continue with

12.Se4 e6
13.d4!

but what about 12.Se4 Sf5?

12.d3 ist also nothing for white...
