I play Nf3 for the odd game and (being a mainline e4 player at heart) would quite likely go 2 e4 there.....

Although I might go 2 c4 too because there's plenty of interesting lines in that.

You can play Nf3 c5!  and you dont need to fear a sicilian because  the player who plays 1.Nf3 definitely will not be ready to go for a sicilian....even if so  the there will be some 1 or 2  out of 10 Nf3 players who go for a sicilian...i am myself a benko player and i dont know sicilian....still i play c5 against Nf3.


lets say you play  100 games as black...

i think 50 games will start with e4  ( more popular)

then against 30 d4

in  15 games you face  either Nf3 or c4

and its very rare for your opponent to play e4 after playing 1.Nf3 

so what if my opponent does that??

just play on your own with some basic knowledge of sicilian and even if you lose just dont worry....theres too little chance for that to repeat again...

Yes, 1. g3 could mean white is seeking a reverse benko... 

If you play the Sicilian, I think the easiest solution is 1.Nf3 c5.  Of course, you need to also play the Symmetrical English after 2.c4 (or straight away with 1.c4 c5), but I'm generally happy there and would rather have my pawn on c5 immediately than deal with various Reti/Catalan-like lines.

You aren't going to get a Benko against people that don't want a Benko!  My advice is to stop trying if you see a move like 1.Nf3 or 1.c4; there's probably only a 1% chance that one of those players will allow a Benko, so it's better to just have something else prepared.

I suppose 1. Ktf3 Ktf6 ; 2. g3 c5 ; 3. Bg2 and now either 3. ... g6 or 3. ...Ktc6 depending on whether or not you are willing to play a Reversed Anti-Grünfeld.
