Really? Harding’s 5.Qd5 seems more testing. As for 4.a3 d6 5.Qc2 d5 6.e3 Bf5!? Seems far from lost because there is no knight covering e4 as in other similar variations.

I analysed this a bit and I really think black is probably lost here:
6.e3 Bf5 7.Nc3 Ng3 (7...Bg6 8.cxd5 Nxc3 9.Qxc3 Qxd5 10.Qxc7 Nd7 11.Nf3 Nb6 12.Qc3 Rc8 13.Qd4) 8.e4 Nxe4 (8...Nxh1 9.exf5 Bc5 10.Nh3) 9.Bd3 Bc5 10.Nxd5 Bxf2+ 11.Kf1 c6 12.Nf4 Bg3 13.Nge2 Bxf4 14.Nxf4 g5 15.Bxe4 Bxe4 16.Qxe4 gxf4 17.Bxf4

5...Nc5 is no doubt a better move (but I still don't feel tempted to play this with black)

I bought it in my dark days of chess products-addiction. I don't think it's a quality product, it spent a lot of time on bad lines for white and missed the recommendation of Schandorff and Bronznik (if I recall correctly).

In this day in age, you would it difficult to find a chess book that is 100% correct all of the time…

Plenty of challenging lines for black 1d4 Nf6 2c4 e5 3dxe5 Ne4 4a3 d6 5Qc2 seems to be a relatively easy way for white to keep some advantage 5...d5 has been suggested as best here for black but i am not sure about this

After 6.e3 black is very close to lost

I suggest you check Jim West On Chess website for coverage about the Fajarowicz Gambit. He plays against the line you mention... and wins as Black!

You advertise Jim West a lot here, plus repeatedly mention other chess websites. Please refrain or risk being locked out of everywhere. MODS - be aware.

I'm reminded again of something Short wrote recently, approximately "The biggest fallacy in chess is the quasi-religious belief in the primacy of the opening."

I have played this a few times with decentish results and it can be good for surprise value. The only reference work I have is Gutmans which has some interesting coverage but is a nightmare to navigate.

"Fighting for the initiative with the Fajarowicz Gambit " by Robert Ris is out for some time now and I don't know if it had already a topic about it (I don't find it in the "Daring defences to 1.d4" section) , so I would like to know if it sounds good, does anyone saw it ?
At least, latest book gives White a serious advantage , does he offer improvements for Black ?
Before ordering it ... I would like to know.
Thanks in advance.
