	Markovich's 8.Bd3 and Nge2 does look very natural, surprisingly it's only been tried in a handful of games. The highest rated Black player (2370) went for the black jet with 8...h5 but White seems to get an edge with Nh3 later. Instead, after the more commonly played 8...Nxc3 9.a3 Black could try 9...Ba5N the point seems to be 10.Bd2 Na4. Only looked briefly at it, but at first appearance black seems okay.

	It seems that an important resource after 13.Qf3 f6 14.exf6 Kf7 15.Qe3 is 15...Re8! The line with 13.Bd2 Rb8! leads to deep complications, but it always seems to lead to a draw, often a perp by one side or the other. I might sooner play 10.Bd3 than 10.Ng2. E.g. 10...cxd4 11.Ne2. Smells a whole lot better, anyway.

	10. Nc3 looks better than 10.bc3.The position might be equal but i will still go with 10.Nc3

	I hadn't seen 13.Qf3 f6, it looks ok for black, after 13.Be3 I couldn't find much for white after 13...Ne7 14.Qh3 f6 15.f3 Ng5 16.Qg4 fxe5 17.dxe5 Nf7 (or Bd7), probably a tad better for white but that's it

	A good place to start in this variation should be: The Modern French, by Antic & Maksimovic, NIC 2012. 	it's an interesting line, at least as good as 6.Bd2 I think, I played a correspondence game in this line and got some advantage but not enough to win I think after 6.Bc1 Ne4 7.Qg4 g6 8.Nge2 c5 9.a3 Bxc3 10.bxc3 cxd4 11.cxd4 Qa5 12.c3 Black should play 12...Bd7 13.f3 Bb5 14.fxe4 Bxe2 15.Qg3 Bxf1 16.Rxf1 dxe4 because after 12...Nc6 there's also 13.Qf3 with for example 13...b6 14.Qe3 Ba6 15.Bb2 Qb5 16.Qc1 Na5 17.Ng3 Nc4 18.a4 with a real advantage
