This means the so-called "Fischer" system with e6/Nge7 is perfectly in shape for black and -even better- easy to play for black? 

Is this system and the improvement over Marin covered in the chesspub ebook?

Are you talking about the d6/Nh6 system, or the Fischer system? We had a short discussion about the Fischer system here, but I haven't seen anything on the other one.

I have used both d6/Nh6 and e6/Nge7 systems against English 1.c4 & 2.g3... in my correspondence chess tries. What is more, I have played against these two as a first player, also.
And I would say that playing the so-called "Fischer" system with e6/Nge7 is far more easier for black. 

I am building up a repertoire against the English Opening. Since I play Benko vs. 1.d4 and Sicilian vs. 1.e4 I will probably replay with 1. … c5 against both first moves of white which may lead to English, thus 1.c4 and 1.Nf3. 
If White has a move order without a quick g3 (2.Nc3,3.g3, 4.Bg2, or similar) I am going to deploy the system with 2. … b6, Bb7 and double fianchetto as proposed by Alejandro Ramirez in “Attacking with the Benko Vol.2”.

However, there is one issue. If White starts with 1.c4, 2.g2 I need to find something else.
Thus I consider the closed symmetrical variation with 5. … d6 and 6. … Nh6:
1.c4 c5 2.g3 Nc6 3.Bg2 g6 4.Nc3 Bg7 5.Nf3 d6 6.0-0 Nh6
but I am struggling with the following:
Marin stated in his GMR English Part 3 that this variation is not good for black since opening the position due to a quick d4 and exchanging the Nh6 will lead to good positions for White – however, Carlsen is still playing this line. Thus I wonder how bad can this variation be if Carlsen is deploying it?!

I am playing vs. opponents in an ELO range between 1800-2200.
