You could use tinyurl.com to convert a long url to a short one.

It used to be easy to write down or communicate the information necessary for a friend to view an old news article on www.ChessBase.com.
"newsid=12345" - was all it took.

But about a year ago ChessBase.com changed its URL format. The new format uses very long names for each page. Painful to jot down.

Several months ago I stumbled onto a short format that also works. I was confident I could figure it out again, but now I find I cannot. So...


** Request: Does anybody know a short Http URL format that works with the current ChessBase.com news articles?
