A whole book by Dreev on the Cozio has recently been published by Chess Stars. There's also a thread on that book here on this forum:
http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/chess/YaBB.pl?num=1404771119

For future reference, I'd suggest that searching the sites of specialist chess-book sellers might be a better way of finding what you're after than using Google or Bing if you're looking for a chess book dealing with a particular topic.

OK, thank you. Sometimes though thanks to Google Book Search though you get access to deep inside chess books off search because Google has scanned everything, which is sometimes helpful. But I agree with you.

Not sure why the use of that old miniature in a children's book is startling, or how it indicates that the Cozio is very underestimated ...

As an Aussie, you have to understand that I'd never seen a kid's book cover a chess position in this manner of detail tying it to a comic. Though I haven't read many American comics using classical chess games beyond basic references before... or go further than Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass etc. There's some on this in the YAMIE chess teacher's guide on their site under Grade 3/4 Algebra. Prob should have posted that first so you'd at least have a clue why I was surprised. Apologies.

- Why it's startling? Probably because it's so strange to see a GM miss the queen sacrifice at that level, I'm not a good analyzer but it just seemed like 8.Nxf7 was such a positionally weak move for GMs.

Chess friends,

- Thank you very much GM Kosten., The YAMIE chess book has really piqued my interest in this position. I will look that up.

I covered it in the DW - Lopez book, but not with ...d6 and ...Bd7, but rather ...a6, ...d6 and then ...exd4 in Aronian style.

The game changer in the Zukertort game seems to be 8.Nxf7, which warrants a separate thread discussion imho.

TEASER: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Nge7 4. c3 d6 5. d4 Bd7 6. O-O Ng6 7. Ng5 h6 8. Nxf7 Kf7 9. Bc4 Ke7 10. Qh5 Qe8 11. Qg5 hxg5 12. Bg5#

I never thought the Cozio could be so powerful, and then recently stumbled across the above interesting (and old) Spanish/Cozio line from a Zukertort game which has been heavily referenced and imbedded in an American home-schooling math comic (YAMIE Chess) which traces the e4 e5 Cozio line and interweaves it with children's math puzzles for algebra and geometry learning.

Apart from Sokolov etc, would anyone know of any more places (esp. bibliographical etc) where I could find effective treatments of the Cozio?

Nothing special turns up in particular on bing/google searches. But I think it's very underestimated... the startling use in the above YAMIE Chess/ Zukertort/Andersen game definitely shows its power and flexibility from an analytical standpoint.

Also would be v. interested to know any statistics on how often the Cozio is used in high level games by masters?
