Hi Raja,
I think the point is that Black is not committed to ...d5. He may be able to get b6 and Bb7 in, perhaps with d6, effectively getting a hedgehog which the 1.c4 2.g3 move order rules out, unless Black allows some very good lines that Marin gives.

It seems it is must to learn anti tarrasch catalan anyways because of various move oder tricks available to black( delaying d5 and playing Be7 ,0-0 and if white plays b3 black doesnt have to play d5). Smiley

Hi.. everyone....i was reading the 3rd volume of Marins repertoire...i was reading the 14th chapter Anti Tarrasch catalan when i had this doubt..i would be happy if someone can help...

1.c4 c5 2.g3 Nf6 3.Bg2 e6 4.Nf3 Be7 5.00 00 6.d4

Marin gives 6.d4..but i thought why not just try to transpose into the second volume Queens gambit declined variation by playing 6.b3 and if d5 then 7.Bb2 transposes to second book...can anyone help? Cool
