	I recall deciding on the Classical Dragon transposition (8. 0-0 d6) once against a lower-rated opponent, and feeling somehow annoyed when he continued to fail to be afraid of ...d5, replying 9. Kh1.

	I played a few accelrated dragon many years ago and one lower rated opponent played like this as White and I once tried to be clever and went for d5 instedf of d6 after 0-0 and and I recall the position became very dry and impossible to win. Next time I met him I played d6 insteaf and won.

	Goodness knows Depends more on mood/ temperment than chess stuff I'd think. In general the very best people vs weaker players will happily take a near equal ending then just grind away, but you have to be happy doing that. If you want to try for faster wins then its complexity, less reliable though.

	After the so-called classical variation in the Accelerated Dragon: 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 g6 5.Nc3 Bg7 6.Be3 Nf6 7.Be2 0-0 a very good titled player said me yesterday that maybe a good way to get a playable position against a lower rated opponent is to continue in a "normal dragon way" with d6 and not d5, mainly because of the character of the remaining positions (too dry, excellent for a draw but not imbalanced enough to outplay inferior foes). What do you think? Classical dragon (d6) or opening the position right now with d5? Thx in advance,
