Looking for informed comment.

Michael Owen once got voted a top 3 player in Europe. David Beckham was regularly voted ahead of Roy Keane etc.

To sum up, not interested in the poll result. More interested in the book.

Sorry sounds like a stupid question but need some genuine feedback.

The thread you're posting in has just voted it Book of the Year 2014. What kind of world do you imagine in which the same people would now tell you that in spite of that, it's not in fact any good?

Thanks for everyone who participated, and thanks to the 33 people who voted for my book. Really appreciate all the support! Runner-up is a great result for my first cut against great opposition! Congrats to Negi and Quality Chess - as usual exceptional chess writing and workmanship!

Congratulations to Parimarjan Negi for winning the 2014 Opening book of the year prize!

The 2014 Book of the Year is

Grandmaster Repertoire: 1.e4 vs The French, Caro-Kann and Philidor

This year saw the most votes ever at Chess Publishing! In fact the two books that tied for second would have won most years with 33 votes each!

The voting was very close, with Negi's book pulling away only in the last week.

I don't think this is giving anything away.

There have been far more votes this year than in any previous year! The turn out has been fantastic so far!

I haven't heard anyone talking about Kotronias' book (which I haven't read), is there something wrong with it? or is the Sveshnikov just not that popular?

Thanks so much, means a lot!

I noticed a huge jump in number of votes after the link to the poll was posted on the QC Blog - probably doesn't bode well for my chances (all of Negi's writing and recording is top notch, no knocks there), but I appreciate the support nonetheless guys!

I finally did my vote in this poll for "the killer sicilian". Had a really really hard time chosing between this and Negi's book. Both are outstanding quality as far as I can judge. Both take correspondence games into account and both would definitely deserve to win here.
I admire Negi for tackling the task of making a complete 1. e4 repertoire. In the end the better digestability and my preference for the positions the book aims for (even though I understand that a white repertoire leaves less freedom in this respect) sealed my decision.

Sorry, there's no way for me as a moderator to change another person's vote. That's actually a good thing when you think about it.

Indeed it is, and fortunately when I checked it seems I have only voted the once (for The Killer Sicilian) so must have intended to vote Bologan but not actually done it.  In fact I think we were possibly still suggesting candidates for the poll when I first mentioned Bologan so maybe the choices weren't there until later.
