If you still are playing the game, I would guess the advice is for you to finish it. After that, please come back to discuss the specificities.

Hi to all:
This is my first post here.

I have reached a hard position at a correspondence game and maybe if you have some time I need help at the following position:

1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.g3 c5 4.d5 exd5 5.cxd5 d6 6.Nc3 g6 7.Bg2 Bg7 8.Nf3 O-O 9.O-O Re8 10.Bf4 Na6 11.Re1 Bg4 12.Nd2 Nh5 13.Be3

My nose (chess smell) tells me that the quality chess sacrifice with 13....Rxe3!? should prosper and white should be gripped. The specific calculation is complicated and the big question is whether this is not then what could be the alternative path. The opening theory does not consider making the sacrifice immediately and differ a little later.
Possible ideas I'm considering are:

option 1:
This is the main option I look for if my chess concept serves me in this position:
13....Rxe3 !? 14.fxe3 Qe7  15.Bf3 Nf6 16.e4 Bd7 17.e3 (if 17.e5 Qxe5 18.Nc4 Qe7 19.e4 b5) h5  The black dominates on both sides and I think the position is promising for me but I need more analysis yet

option 2:
13....Bf5 14.Nc4 Nb4 15.Rc1 Bxc3 16.bxc3 Nxa2 17.Ra1 Nxc3 18.Qb3 Ne4 19.f3 b5 20.Qxb5 Nc3 21.Qb2 Nxd5 22.Bh6 amd I think that the white have a little advantage here.

option 3:
13....Qd7 14.Qb3 Rab8 15.a4 Bh3 16.Bf3 Rxe3 17.fxe3 Nf6 18.Nb5 b6 19.Nc4 Nb4 20.Nbxd6 a6 21.Nxe4 Nfxd5 22.a5 Qe7 23.axb6 Bf5 and I find this position equal.

option 4:
In the real game (0-1 (32) Gupta,A (2634)-David, A (2553) Rethymno 2014) the black preferred to maneuver a bit before deciding on the sacrifice on e3 13...Nc7 14.a4  Rxe3 15.fxe3 Qe7 16.Nc4 Nf6 17.e4 Nd7? and now 18.h3 was very good for white.

I hope your views !

Best Regards,

Marco.
