I just read a comment from the new correspondence worldchampion Leonardo Ljubici on chessbase:
http://en.chessbase.com/post/better-than-an-engine-leonardo-ljubicic-1-2/1#discu...

"And I know that since I have several OTB GM's on my mailing list waiting to receive ICCF monthly games update."

Smiley Seems I am not the only one using this method to get the latest iccf games.

I just notied something today:

http://www.debestezet.nl/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3099

"ChessBase Corr Database 2015"

Is this what we sought the whole time? 1.274.459 correspondence games from 1804-2015. I never knew that ChessBase had this database.

In 2013 Chessbase released its latest correspondence database: http://shop.chessbase.com/en/products/corr_2013

Anyway my collection today counts 946337 games. Probably if I download the free games from IECC: http://www.chess-iecc.com/ I will come close or even exceed the figure of Chessbase. I chose not to include those games as computers are not allowed by IECC so the quality is much lower and the majority of the games are theoretically not very interesting.

It cost me nothing to build my database. Asking 100 euros for a database which probably doesn't add anything important to what I already have , is just another ridiculous expensive example of the Chessbase monopoly.

This topic has been covered several times the last couple of years on this forum:
http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/chess/YaBB.pl?num=1374219618/0
http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/chess/YaBB.pl?num=1387799259

Today I am still regularly contacting somebody playing in ICCF to get the latest cc-games.

I use very extensively those cc-games in my analysis or preparation see e.g. http://chess-brabo.blogspot.be/2014/12/using-databases.html

HI,
If you check chessbase data (is free, you need online register) online you can see most of games from practical also same from corr games. Just do filter to nationality and corr appear in different colour (blue). Otherwise, you can check ICCF web site you can see there regulary update about corr games in ICCF.

I often hear about something like when someone analyses a line deeply, that they did not consider this or that game in the correspondence database, but I always wonder where is this correspondence databases. For example, I only have Big Database. I never specify correspondence games or thought about it. Is there a specific correspondence database that comes in ChessBase or where is this to be found?

I am probably unfamiliar with correspondence databases because I never play it, but popular lines that I play that seem to mention correspondence games are the 6. Lg5 Najdorf, Caro-Kann Capablanca main line, and so wider. In my entire chess life I do not think that I ever considered correspondence databases, because I do not even know where they are.
