I notice the OP started a thread some years ago on the same line, which has some info as well: http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/chess/YaBB.pl?num=1271201112/2#2

It is indeed an old book line, though a few months ago David Smerdon, analyzing a game Ni Hua-Ryjanova, went so far as to say "White has excellent chances for a decisive opening advantage against this variation."

This is a fairly popular line. I don't know what books you have on the c3 Sicilian but from memory it's covered by at least Sveshnikov, Emms (Starting Out book), Rozentalis & Harley and Collins in their respective books.

Hi everyone,
I've had a couple games lately beginning: 1.e4 c5 2. c3 g6 3. d4 cd 4. cd d5. I can't find any information on this line anywhere besides the database and I'm wondering what book or resource might give insight into this line. Apparently, some players are using it and I'm not sure where they got the idea. I checked the ebook for the unusual 2nd moves and I didn't see that it covered it. Does anyone know or play this themselves?
