I note that it could transpose to 8...d6 9. h3 Rb8, which has been played by a number of GMs (including, yep, Naiditsch and Gajewski).

Anand it seems has also played it once, and like Gajewski, Malaniuk has played it a number of times.

Ah, so this is a variation. Does the 9. ...Rb8 line have a name?

Hmm, that's a give away of how deep my analysis was. I should have gone two more moves  Embarrassed

Hit play and read on...

Oh, those computer engines, what do they know about chess? Roll Eyes

So when in this well know positon, it suggested

8. ...Rb8 ?!?  Shocked  I nearly fell off my horse, err, I mean chair

But is it bad? Or a sophisticated waiting move? Or a brand new Lopez main line waiting to be born (step aside Mr Gajewski)?

I found 2 games, score of 100% for black  Cool, including one by Arkadij Naiditsch, none the less

My own TN, 8. ...Ra7, still waits to be played, for some reason  Cheesy
