The Schneider/Erdelyi book looks like a good one, but seems to be out of print.

I just received my second hand copy in the mail!

Thanks for the info Lanark! German is no problem, I already watched the "Beispielvideo".

I have just started watching the DVD, so I am afraid I cannot give all recommended lines yet, but the chapters deal with the following moves.

1.d4 c5 2.d5 d6 3.c4 e5 (2 videos)
1.d4 c5 2.d5 d6 3.c4 g6 (2 videos)
1.d4 c5 2.d5 d6 3.e4 without c4
1.d4 c5 2.d5 d6 3.c4 g6 4.Nc3 Bg7 5.e4 e6 6.f4
1.d4 c5 2.d5 d6 3.e4 g6 4.f4
1.d4 c5 2.d5 f5
1.d4 c5 2.dxc5
1.d4 c5 2.e3
1.d4 c5 2.c3 (2...Qa5)
1.d4 c5 2.Nf3

So the lines on this DVD cover a bit of the Schmid Benoni (sorry for calling it Schmidt Benoni in my previous post), but also transpositions to the Czech Benoni and other stuff.
From what I've seen so far my impression is that the DVD is really not about heavy theory but more about some typical games and motifs.
By the way, Eva Moser presents the videos in German (or in Austrian, I should say).

There is also a ChessBase DVD about 1.d4 c5 by Eva Moser which contains some Schmidt Benoni stuff.

Thanks! I already have this DVD on my maybe-to-buy list.

Maybe you can give a short index of variations about the Schmid Benoni?

Raetsky & Chetverik give 11...Bxc4!? (instead of 11...Rb8 12.b3!!) 12.Bxc4 a6 13.Re1 Nd7 14.Qd2 Re8 15.Bh6 Bh8+= (Garcia Gonzales - Larsen).

Re 11...Bxc4, the same moves and evaluation appeared in ECO, albeit citing a different game.
ECO has had 9...a6 as leading to = or unclear, citing games with such people as Larsen, Leko and Tal on the black side.  9...a6 was also liked by Taimanov in the book you listed.  I don't know if this has been addressed by the likes of Avrukh or Khalifman; surely that would be interesting.

There is also Queen's Pawn Opening, Pseudo-Benoni: 1.d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 c5 3. d5 by Schneider and Erdelyi (Caissa Books, 2000). The Schmid Benoni occupies roughly half of its 120 (A5 sized) pages, and I recall the coverage being pretty decent. Not exactly new, but then the Schmid Benoni isn't an opening where much changes from year to year; White is consistently just slightly better, Black is solid enough not to be over-run, and Black may still win if White fumbles.

In the case with Nf3 (maybe the line with f4 and Bb5+ is a different story), I have wondered whether in fact White should be able to claim +=.  Take 1. d4 c5 2. d5 d6 3. Nc3 g6 4. e4 Bg7 5. Nf3 Nf6 6. Be2 O-O 7. O-O.  Here as I recall Schneider/Erdelyi and S. Kasparov favored 7...e6.  Against the maybe-considered-suboptimal 7...Na6, I think someone here pointed to Smyslov-Schmid 1952 as the way to obtain some advantage:  8. Nd2 Nc7 9. a4 b6 10. Nc4 Ba6 11. Bf4 (47 years later, Leko played 11. Bg5 against Ponomariov, which I recall was given as "?!" in Informator) Rb8 12. b3.  But for what it's worth 9...a6 (reminiscent of Botvinnik-Schmid 1960, but in that case Black delayed castling) was thought to be unclear in NCO, and seems to have scored well.

Material on the Schmid Benoni?

I am looking for some (new) material on the Schmid Benoni. I already have:

Crushing White: The Sniper! Vol. 2 - Henley (TPT Press 2013) (looked at it at Amazon)
The Dynamic Benko Gambit - S.Kasparov (New In Chess 2012)
The Sniper! Vol. 4 - Henley (Foxy Openings 2012, DVD)
The Sniper - Storey (Everyman 2011)
Opening Repertoire for Black - Bangiev (ChessBase 2006, CD)
Starting Out: Benoni Systems - Raetsky & Chetverik (Everyman 2005)
Moderne & Klassische Flankenkenspiele - Pachmann (Olms 2002)
Play Anti-Indian Systems - Varnusz (Macmillan 1991)
Konigsindisch bis Altindindisch - Taimanow (Sportverlag Berlin 1984)

While I was writing this I realised I have more material than I originally thought...  Wink
