Reverse Tiger Modern

I ran into this at the weekend.

The game started 1. g3 e5 2. Bg2 d5 3. d3 Nc6 4. a3

It wasn't the first time my opponent had played this either. With forewarning, I decided to take up my opponent's offer of the White pieces and continued with 4. .. a5. The game then continued in typical Hippo fashion with white playing in no specific order, b3, Bb2, Nd2, e3, Ne2 and h3. Black playing Be6, Qd7, Nf6, Bd6 and 0-0.

As with the lines emerging from the Tiger Modern, surely this is a small edge for the player with the space and central pawns?

In the actual game, Black continued with a plan of not doing anything with Rad8 and h6. Meanwhile White played Nd2f3 only to retreat it back to d2 when .. e4 looked a worrying threat.
