For the record, Kaufman's apparently best-play line was 4. cd Qxe4+ 5. Be3 Bb4+ 6. Nc3 d5 7. Nf3 Bf5 8. Qb3 Nc6 9. Bb5 and some further moves leading to equality.

6...Nf6 7. Nf3 Nd5 was given in NCO (some years before Kaufman) as leading to "unclear," and in MCO (some years after Kaufman) as leading to "White has not quite enough compensation."

Given your numbers the practical significance of this seems rather small to me. In 77 otb games on the black side of 1.e4 e5 I have yet to face someone willing to play the Danish Gambit.

Given the chance I would be tempted to give 3...Qe7 a try. I became aware of this due to Kaufman´s first installment of "The Opening Advantage in Black and White".

The line 1. e4 e5 2. d4 exd4 3. c3 Qe7 is recommended by Bologan in his weighty book on 1. .. e5. 

Checking games for the last two or three years, whilst the Danish pops up around 30 to 40 times a year, the Qe7 defence is played around once a year. Will this change as people read the book ?

The most popular defences are taking the pawn with 3. .. dxc3 or transposing to the Goring /Chigorin with 3. .. d5
