I own the book. Even according to 1985 standards (year of release) it was far from perfect. They didn't exactly do exhausting research, both regarding analysis and collecting games. However as an introduction it's not too bad, especially if you're willing to spend a few hours combing through a database. It also helps that the authors are neutral; they point out several difficult lines.
The book consists of four parts.
Part 1, chapter 1: 1.d4 c5 2.d5 e5 3.e4 d6.
Part 1, chapter 2: 1.d4 c5 2.d5 d6 (also a few pages on e6) 3.e4 Nf6 4.Nc3 g6 (several lines can result from the Pirc).
Part 2, chapter 1.1: 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c5 3.d5 e5 4.Nc3 d6 5.e4 Be7.
Part 2, chapter 1.2: 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c5 3.d5 e5 4.Nc3 d6 5.e4 g6.
Part 2, chapter 2: 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c5 3.d5 d6 4.Nc3 g6.

A lot of stuff is missing, even if already known in 1985. An interesting gambit is for instance in part 2, chapter 2 the line 5.g3 Bg7 6.Bg2 O-O 7.Nf3 e6/e5 (not mentioned at all) 8.dxe6 (so the transposition 8.O-O is not mentioned either) Bxe6 9.Ng5 Bxc4 10.Bxb7 Nbd7.
Don't spend too much money on it.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

If you have "Alt-Benoni-Verteidigung" by Stoljar & Kondratjew can you maybe give your opinion about it and an index of variations?

Sorry, I can't help here. I only browsed through it some time and found it thin and so a bit superficial all the more as it is from the 1980ies.

But i can suggest Palliser's "How to play against 1.d4" as a much more recent source. I like it as he explains things in an understandable way. And Palliser serves with much more content than Stoljar & Kondratjew.
