Yeah, true. What about 9.Ne5 though? I don't know if 9...c5 is such a good move there. 9...c6 looks safe but that just transposes into the first line I gave.

Black can go 9... Nbd7 and then ...c5 or 9... c5 right away. In both cases, Black is at least equal.

The main line of the 4.g3 QID is 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nf3 b6 4. g3 Ba6 5. b3 Bb4+ 6. Bd2 Be7 7. Bg2 c6 8. Bc3 d5 9. Ne5 Nfd7 10. Nxd7 Nxd7 11. Nd2 O-O 12. O-O

but recently this line has become popular:

1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nf3 b6 4. g3 Ba6 5. b3 Bb4+ 6. Bd2 Be7 7. Bg2 O-O 8. O-O d5

Bologan recommends this line in his QID DVD and Karjakin played it a few times recently. I was wondering, can White can play 9.Bc3 here and transpose to the older main line, or would black be able to exploit that idea? Bologan didn't mention 9.Bc3 here so I was curious about it. Thanks!
