Sure - just play one of the various Reti lines without d4 involved.

Thanks, did not know I had a Reti option, I will check it out.

Does the English have to transpose to the Tarrash?

Hi All, I was wondering, is there a way to avoid the Tarrasch or Semi Tarrasch when playing the English? Well I think I can handle the Semi, but the Tarrasch is an opening I never liked to play against. Part of the reason I am playing the English is just to get to different positions. Well an advice would be great.Oh and if it is pretty forced, then is there an attacking line I can try against it. I am just not into those isolated pawn positions.  Also if there are any books I could look at for ideas?
