I meant Abraham Washington. Sorry. It's my best combination of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.

A practical advantage of your line is that most players of the white pieces will be on their own starting on move 8!

Happy Abraham Lincoln day  Wink

Black usually plays 7...Qf6 often continuing with Bd6 at some point. 7...Bc5 makes sense to me also.

Analyzing with the engine turned on, white varied with 9Bg5, but black eventually equalized. The computer shared our opinion that white should immediately take the piece. Looking at game databases, black players have fared well after 8hxg.

Human players have preferred 8Be3 and 8Nbd2 with good results for white. After 8Nbd2, ...Qf6 may be O.K.. So perhaps you should examine 8Be3!? Let us know what you find out. My hunch is that black can hang in there, despite initial computer evaluations favoring white.
