I don´t think so. After 6...Nxc3 7.bxc3 d5 8.Bb5 Be7 Black is ready to castle and keep one extra pawn. White is not completely lost but who would want to struggle for a draw with White starting on move 6?

This is one of those dubious variations where the gambiteer plays only for a few tricks but if the defender plays solid chess all the attempts are rebuffed easily.

Is White's position so bad after Bb5 (after... d5) with ideas of Re1+, Ng5, Ba3, etc. No compensation at all for the Pawns?

Well, according to old theory, Black should get a clear advantage after (5. 0-0 Nxe4 6. Nc3) Nxc3 (Estrin gave 6...dc 7. Bxf7+ as leading to a clear advantage for White) 7. bc d5.

What do you think of this line, from White's point of view?

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.d4 exd4 6.00 Nxe4 7.Nc3

Is White getting anything after 7...dxc3 8.Bxf7+ Kxf7 9.Qd5+ ?
