I get confused just browsing this thread. It says "New Najdorf Book" (singular) and from the start it turns out that's the one by Bryan Smith. No wait, it switched to Doknjas and Doknjas. No, there's a reference to Pavlovic!? And the last few posts are evidently about the Vigorito book...

Wouldn't it be better to have one thread for each book?

Edit: At least the Pavlovic book has its own thread: https://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/chess/YaBB.pl?num=1540818668

Yes, sorry. I put the Vigorito book in this thread because i saw other books being discussed in this one and i didnt have much to say about this book.

A Practical Repertoire at 544 pages. That is a lot of practicality to study.

This books looks very good, but I wonder how much one can remember over time since most White players are going to spoil the party by playing an Anti-Sicilian.

Yes, ideally threads would have clear titles.

Najdorf book: Vigorito (2019)

or similar.

Are both moderators still around btw?

The excerpt looks REALLY excellent! Of course the entire book sort of hinges on how well (and practical) it deals with 6.Bg5, but if it's reasonably solid on the theoretical side, this may just make me pick up the Opening for some fun times.

David Vigorito's playing the Najdorf exert is up on Quality Chess's blog and looks interesting. I'm not a Najdorf player, but I usually like David's work

Apparently against 6. Bg5 he goes with the old main line 6...e6 7. f4 Be7 8. Qf3 Qc7 9. 0-0-0 Nbd7; I'll be interested to see the choices there.  I notice that after 10. g4 he has played, this year, that suicidal-looking line 10...b5 11. Bxf6 Nxf6 12. g5 Nd7 13. f5 0-0.  Against 10. Bd3 is it ...b5 or the Browne system (or both)? ...

Quite funny when they opt for the ..e5-approach to show a game by Kasparov going straight for the Scheveningen.
Obvious name dropping - didn't they find a single well known game with e5?

On page 11nd of the Leseprobe, it looks like 6. Ag5 Cbd7. Should be interesting, last time I remember this in Schwarzrepertoire was in the Ftacnik Sicilian book almost decade ago.

I might get this book, but I still think that anti-Sicilians are the most annoying for a Najdorf players  Angry Cheesy

From what I can gather the reviewers have only been given one chapter to review (The English Attack)

You're presumably unaware of this, but it's quite normal for publishers to send out review copies of their books before the titles go on general sale in bookshops, so there's nothing untoward going on here, I can assure you! http://www.chesspub.com/yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/smiley.gif

Very few books on this publishers site have any reviews posted even after publication so to have reviews posted before publication did seemed to me to be unusual ....never the less I'm keen to see the books contents when they post some sample pages.

The new pdf schedule say Decembre for Najdorf book:

https://www.everymanchess.com/pdf/Publishing_Schedule.pdf

Looks like they added Opening Repertoire: French by Lakdawala for January on that schedule, but that is topic for a different thread...
