The last major book was by New in Chess. This was a while back now

For the meantime: Have you seen the miniature book by Carsten Hansen? It's a lot of fun, lots of wins by white and black. And it only costs $5 on Forward Chess.

I think I just be one of the few people who really enjoy playing against Anti-Sicilians, as fundamentally I think they are toothless if Black is prepared for them. When I’m playing league or tournament games the only time I get remotely worried is if they play 3.d4.

From the preview on Amazon, the author places the Najdorf in its historic context and advocates the plan of playing .. e5 where possible. Perhaps the audience is someone who is a relatively experienced player who has never previously played the Najdorf with either colour.

I wonder the same thing, being one of few who plays Open Sicilian with white Smiley. However if one plays thematical corr tournaments when the opening is actually played it is good to have some guidelines. I have for example played in 3 Najdorf tournaments at ICCF.

Well, there is an IM named Brian Kelly, but this book (incidentally quite different from a 500-page repertoire book) is by GM Bryan Smith.

Not really I’m happy playing ...e5

Just seems lots happened but not much published. The Bryan Smith one is just a game collection really was hoping for something but more meaty!
