@Brabo - I learned some things from your blog post. I didn't feel that 15 minutes is a good time control for young players but I will reconsider.

Online and offline needs to be further broken down into led/independent, individual/group.

My opinion is that, ceteris paribus, offline is far superior to online. But online a student can have access to a titled player and/or professional coach without traveling. I have never given lessons online, but as an experiment I took a couple of lessons that way and disliked it intensely.

Something is better than nothing. If you live in the boonies online is the way to go. But if you live in Moscow, St. Louis, or similar, to prefer online is silly.

What do you mean by online education? Skype lessons? Automated curricula (those exist offline, too)? I think there are intangible advantages to in-person training, having to do with confidence, support, internalization of ideal images of one's self, mitigation of the isolating nature of chess, etc.

Whether you steal from me or not (I don't authorize it), anyway I hope the article's good. Wink

+1, Bibs. Looks like someone wants us to write the thing for them.

Pro-tip: be sure to cite everything well, Olivia! Smiley

Online or offline, first time meets often include greetings.
Such as, "Hello."

Requests for assistance often include such words as "Please" and "Thank you in advance".

Otherwise communication can appear brusque, and a request presumptuous.
