I don't remember the exact game, but Wei Yi had a nice win in the Chinese League last year with 7...e6 8.h5 as White, against another 2700+ GM. The game made me wonder if Black's independent options (compared to 7...Nd7) after 7...e6 8.h5 Bh7 9.Bd3 Bxd3 10.Qxd3 are really so hot for Black.

If I am correct, this line with 7...e6 is superceded the line with ...Cd7, but since all books for some unexplicable reason always recommend the 7...Cd7 line, I am not sure what the theory really is.

This line is so popular but every Caro-Kann book with 4...Af5 gives the old main line, and my only real source is the DWD by Widit. Are any other resources besides Widit's DWD, for example NIC or CBM, or anything published on it ¿
