Looks like the ebook version is posted on everyman's website. Has anyone picked up a copy? if so, what's the repertoire?

thanks

Has anyone got this book and if so does it differ greatly from the move by move volume as written by Lakdawala?

It looks like De Beste Zet have it too.

I do find it weird to write book on same opening, when he had already written one just four years earlier  Cheesy

Not really that surprising, the Petroff is probably growing in popularity again after a long while in not having much written for it -

Also, the move by move and the opening repertoire series are supposed to be slightly different audiences i think.

I find it surprising there isnt a sample available online yet.

This book is now available from both Chess Direct and Chess & Bridge.

I would be interested to know how different it is from The Petroff Move by Move....guess comparing the games index in both books will soon tell.

As far as I call, looking at excerpt he recommends in this new book 8...b6 in "New Main Line" with opposites sides castling, which was I think given favourably also in his Move by Move book.

Since there is no Index of Variations, I cannot see in big detail what else he recommends compared to Move by Move book.

On p. 10 he talks about chimpanzee and Planet of the Apes film when talking about Cochrane Gambit, so it looks like his eccentric writing style continues  Cheesy

I guess a key question is how much this book differs from his Move by Move book on the Petroff?

Totally agree, but without there being either an index or a list of games used in the excerpt it is going to be difficult to tell....

Doubtless Amazon will produce something in due course but that is usually well after release date in Europe.

If the content is different I would have thought that the publishers would highlight this to maximise sales?

Thanks...although Stockfish thinks 20...Kh8 is OK not the type of position you want in an OTB game....

I mean how he writes so fast. Book on 1. d4 2. c4 published few weeks ago no ¿ And before that French book...meanwhilst I am analysing a specific line in French Winawer for three months and still would not be able to publish anything if I could  Cheesy

Petroff avoids Scotch and Italian, which now probably close to as popular as White playing main Ruy López.

In excerpt, I question what point is of analysing endgame in opening book. Unless it has direct affect on long analytical lines, would be better to replace that with more detailed opening analysis.
