I switched to blogger.com and got boards to work:

All in castellano so far. Still needs editing  Cheesy

I will switch completely over to blogger.com then. WordPress seems to ask for joining paid membership compared to blogger.com. That embed after being saved would get deleted after clicking "update post".

It appears wordpress will not embed content from random sites, only from supported sites.

Still same thing happens, it shows up only in previewing the post, but not when after clicking update. I tried it both on text editor and html editor, yet both fail to display it in the finished post.

Yet it works on blogger.com easily. Very strange..

Right, yes, I am on blogger rather than wordpress. Strange it doesn't work on the latter.

it's become a bit more tricky since they changed the site, but it can still be done.

go to: https://www.chess.com/analysis

then: Load PGN, Share, Embed, extract the seven digit code from the Embed box, and put it in here (replacing the hashes):

<iframe border="0" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" width="570" height="450" src="//www.chess.com/emboard?id=#######"></iframe>

you can then insert that little piece of html into your post

it works for me anyway Smiley

It looks like he wanted to switch from WordPress to blogger.com. WordPress have plugins to put chess board in, but you have to pay subscription fee. I tried plugin there, but it kept asking me to pay monthly fee to install plugins.

I suppose I shall try blogger.com since it free and easier to use..

tschukki on reddit has some of the same considerations as you.

Click on Sort by OLD and the thread makes more sense.

I might switch from WordPress to blogger.com, as I see on forums that WordPress free blog makes it hard to paste chess stuff. blogger.com seems to be most options with free blog choice, since I cannot afford WordPress fee. I have to use that money to buy the chess books  Cheesy

Since you want specialist content in your blog, you are going to have to learn to code. I don't have a blog, but I have used things like Apex and SharePoint. You should be able to edit the html directly, you don't need a plugin. But they might restrict the tools available on wordpress-hosted sites. I don't know. Try these instructions:
https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/edit-html-wordpress/

Another idea is to create a child theme -- pick a template and repurpose one of their widgets for your chess element -- a type of overloading. This might be harder to get working, but if it does work then it becomes much easier to drop your chess content onto a new page.

That did not seem to help. It just shows the html in box when I try to edit the blog.

I have been trying to find out how to get some chess site board and moves on html, but I have not seen instructions how to do so. And I only have the free membership on WordPress, not the paid subscription to install plugins.

I saw how brabo has chess.com board and moves on his blog (although his is blogger.com and not WordPress). I saw others with WordPress blogs and various chess boards, but not sure if they did that solely though html with free membership.

You can't use the same techniques as this message board uses. Maybe try this page instead:
