I would definitely recommend this book. The author has done a thorough job as far as I can tell, and there is a good balance between variations and explanations. He sometimes goes for good alternatives to the big topical main lines, as is possible with a top quality opening like the Lopez.

To anyone who has this book, would you recommend it? I'm very interested in getting a Ruy Lopez book for White.

I havent read it, so cant give you a recommendation - but from what i have seen of the books on the Najdorf and Modern Benoni the Donknjas brothers have been involved in, i would expect it is worth picking up.

I have their Najdorf book and quite like what I’ve seen in it, so I’ll probably get their Ruy Lopez book too. I like their style of mixing theory and explanations without too much or too little of either.

It is exciting to finally have a Spanish repertoire book for White this time! Does anybody know if this will be out on Forward Chess before it is released in the U.S. in January?

Not sure. But my preference is generally to buy Everyman digital versions from the Everyman website over Forward Chess. You get multiple formats, the PGN, and it's cheaper.

It does seem like a pretty good repertoire. The Anti-Berlin with d3 and the Anti-Marshall with a4 are the most dangerous lines for White against both these super theoretical and dreaded lines.

The book is now published... It's the first "Main-Line" based Ruy Lopez repertoire book from White's side in a good while (apart from Khalifman's monumental "Opening Repertoire according to Anand" - which I honestly found too advanced, and very hard to study) so I am very happy about that.

This book should be published soon by Everyman. I hope that it advocates the main line Ruy for White.

It does that, yes.

I hope the emphasis is on 3...a6, I get some Berlin coverage is essential, but I like the 3...a6 lines.

If it's a repertoire for White, as I hope, I trust that there'll be coverage of all significant Black replies... Berlin and 3...a6 included.

This book should be published soon by Everyman. I hope that it advocates the main line Ruy for White. We really need a book  from White's point if view, after a lot of books from Black's side, IMHO. What do you think?
