Hi,
I am investigating the move order 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 e6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nc6 5. Cc3 a6 to defuse the English attack, but I am uncomfortable with this variation 6. Nxc6 bxc6 7. e5. Black seems to be lagging a lot in development, and his pieces coordination is not the best.
Is there a good survey/model game that show how to treat this? Thanks!

I think after 7...Qc7 Black is fine. If 8 Bf4 then Rb8 and Bb4 look good and if 8 f4 then d5. If White doesn't take then Black has a position most of us Frenchies can only dream about and if White takes then Black should be fine after Bxd6 (the pawn on f4 does not make much sense in that case).

I would be more worried about 7. Bd3 (suggested by Negi in 1 e4 vs the Sicilian III). When I was studying that chapter in Negi's book I got the impression that there is no simple road to equality for Black. (Of course Black should be fine with best play.)
