Yes, I have both volumes. They seem pretty good. He's done a lot of work on them.

I'm curious how GM Kravtsiv will deal with these two issues:

1. Chatper 2C sees him playing against his own repertoire: 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Nf6 3.d3 Bc5 4.Nc3 c6 and I suppose 5.Nf3 d6. He spends 10+ pages on this.
2. The piece sac 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.Nc3 Nxc3 6.dxc3 Be7 7.Be3 Nc6 8.Qd2 Be6 9.O-O-O Bxa2.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

The Italian Renaissance - I: Move Orders, Tricks and Alternatives, and The Italian Renaissance - II: The Main Lines, promises to be the new "state of the art" work on the Modern Italian Game. I am eagerly awaiting for the free PDFs, since the books should be out in August.
