I highly recommend the Langrock book - well chosen example games and a real attempt to get to grips with the subtleties of the position. Meier features heavily and his choices drive Langrock’s repertoire to a large extent. I had it sitting on on my shelf for years before I took another look over the past year or so. The Rubinstein is quite natural to play and is rock solid. I’ve adopted it in my internet games with success, it’s a good opening for blitz, if you like the types of semi-open positions that are typical for this line. I’d happily play it over the board, whenever that happens again.

I’ve even bought the Chessable course of this book and find that learning it over both formats quite useful.

Langrock up-dated and expanded his original book in 2018. So if you are looking to buy it make sure you get the Second Edition of his work....it's clearly marked "Second Edition" in yellow in the bottom right corner of the cover.

Yes, I was lazy in my research. The link on Russell's website says "Excerpt (1st ed.)", but I didn't notice.

Strange why they didn't put up an excerpt of the 2nd edition. Luckily there is one at Amazon (Kindle version).

Georg Meier the Germany GM who plays the Rubinstein variation a lot was pretty active during the four years between the editions so there is quite a lot of new ideas in the 2nd edition.

There is also a USA player Belka who has been playing the Rubinstein variation at pretty high levels in Correspondence Chess for a number of years, so the variation has proven that it can stand up to some pretty tough scrutiny.

Langrock (2014) French Defense: The Solid Rubinstein Variation

Thank you very much!

Update: Via Langrock's book I found The French Defence A Complete Black Repertoire and The French Defence Reloaded by Vitiugov.

And put "Langrock Rubinstein" in the search box here. The book has been discussed in a bunch of threads.

I am not a French player (yet), but is there any repertoire book for Black which advocates 3...dxe4 (Rubinstein or Fort Knox)? I looked at most Black repertoire books and they all seem to advocate 3...Bb4 or 3...Nf6.
