I highly recommend the Langrock book - well chosen example games and a real attempt to get to grips with the subtleties of the position. Meier features heavily and his choices drive Langrock’s repertoire to a large extent. I had it sitting on on my shelf for years before I took another look over the past year or so. The Rubinstein is quite natural to play and is rock solid. I’ve adopted it in my internet games with success, it’s a good opening for blitz, if you like the types of semi-open positions that are typical for this line. I’d happily play it over the board, whenever that happens again.

I’ve even bought the Chessable course of this book and find that learning it over both formats quite useful.

Update: Via Langrock's book I found The French Defence A Complete Black Repertoire and The French Defence Reloaded by Vitiugov.

I am not a French player (yet), but is there any repertoire book for Black which advocates 3...dxe4 (Rubinstein or Fort Knox)? I looked at most Black repertoire books and they all seem to advocate 3...Bb4 or 3...Nf6.
