His opponent rating range was 2135-2832 with a rating average of 2743 and a 66.8% win rate (+42, =83) from 17 countries.

With a rating average of 2743, he couldn't have played many 2135 players. But 125 games without a loss is remarkable against any opposition. Streaks are a funny thing. Some people find them motivating, others find them worrying. Carlsen must be in the first group.

The bottom 10 ratings were:
1. 2135
2. 2311
3. 2365
4. 2516
5. 2526
6. 2597
7. 2610
8. 2612
9. 2628
10. 2633

Carlsen overlooked a pretty, but not difficult, 9-ply tactic--but only after Duda had had him under pressure for a long time. Kramnik said Duda played a good positional game and implied that Duda could take credit for  the victory. So congratulations to the young Polish champion for a historic win!

Was it the first time he played the 5...exf6 Caro-Kann in a tournament game?

Carlsen played the 5...exf6 Caro once before. Two years ago against Svidler.

Have a nice night.
