You may also be interested in GM Peter Svidler's Chessable course on the Grunfeld...I think it is due out March/April.

Thanks. Then I won't buy it. Do you have any recommendations for good books on the Grünfeld where the main focus is the strategy of the opening? Alternatively, I could study Kasparov's games with it from Kasparov on Kasparov.

The book is not good. In the main line Exchange with 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 d5 4.cxd5 Nxd5 5.e4 Nxc3 6.bxc3 Bg7 7. Nf3 c5 8.Be3 Qa5 9.Qd2 O-O 10.Rc1 Rd8 11.d5 e6 he gives 12.c4 as the main line, and relegates 12.Bg5 to a note. And even there he gives 12.Bg5 f6 13.c4, without even mentioning the much more popular and critical 13. Be3 (or 13. Bf4, for that matter). This is not an accidental omission, it is intentional and deceptive.

What do you think of the book? I already have Kovalchuk's book from Quality Chess but have very little experience with this opening, so would it be worth also having this one to learn the Grünfeld well?

I just got it in the post ... Carlsen-Navara, Wijk ann Zee 2007, would maybe be the main line in 7 Bc4 variation.

86 annotated games - 13 Chapters - maybe more focused on "consistent strategies and concepts" - than a move-by-move playbook.

Anybody know what the repertoire choices for Davies' new book are? I see he goes with the old Smyslov line in the Russian, but what else?

TIA.
