It struck me as definitely well put together, rather Open Sicillian like and also a serious amount of work - you are having to play a lot of different positions as white.

Goes with the territory of a serious repetoire of course Smiley

I forgot to mention that Jones idea after 2 Nc3 Nc6 3 Bb5 is that in some cases reach a favorable Grand Prix attack and not a Rossolimo while in some cases in the repertoar,  including after 2 .. e6 it leads to Rossolimo.

Coffeehouse repertoire vs Sicilian

Gawain Jones wrote a book called Coffeehouse repertoire.
Its a 1 e4 book in two parts, I bougt part 1 and are waiting for part 2.

I was mainly thinking about Sicilian part in the book.
He plays 2 Nc3.

Vs d6 he goes for Carlsen variation, a line I play in a few games myself self so I know it works.

Vs Nc6 he covers two systems. Main recommendation are 3 Bb5 but Nge2 are also covered. I have never tried this line but it looks interested.

VS e6 he playes 3 Nf3 and sometime play Bb5 and sometimes plays g3 with idea of later d4 when several systems are ruled out..
