I am very surprised that there is still no thread about this quite interesting repertoire
suggested by a very strong player, which has been released by chessable recently.
To be sure despite the title
this is not a pure London System repertoire. The idea is to play it safe and in a very relaxed manner
without learning much theory (only 200 trainable lines for a (not so) complete 1.d4 repertoire!).
I think this could be an interesting first repertoire
which is certainly good and safe enough to stay in the game,
which I think is very important for starters.
There is a "short and sweet" version of the course. This way you can get an impression about the course for free.
Liem Quang Le recommends the 2.Nf3-moveorder and thus avoids the commital 2.Bf4. This is a very good thing because it allows to upgrade to some mainline KID/GID (or maybe the g6-Torre) later without throwing away the whole repertoire. The course covers 2...g6 3.Nc3 with a Barry attack or Pirc.
I think one critical line is the "Slav setup":
1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 d5 3.c3
Here one problem line is obviously the copycat 3...c6
Liem Quang Le continues 4.Qc2 Qc7!?

5.c4!?

and the Qc7 seems not so well placed.
Well, Black can equalize this way, but it is not as easy as it looks.
Btw many lines end with equality if Black comes well prepared, but that's life.
At least Liem Quang Le is very honest about this.
If someone already plays 1.d4 ... 2.Nf3 aiming for 3.c4
this course has some ideas, that could be annoying, for instance 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 e6 (c6) 3.Bf4
Therefore I think parts of the course are interesting for many more player than the London afficionados.
Has anyone some opinions about this course?
