Sorry to hear that. For sure "Sound" was his middlename, much more so than Ulfie. Reading the blurb, I would have shortlisted Lakwadala and the actual author, both quite prolific. Also the guy from NIC Yearbook and his trademark "In part A, we examined various alternatives leading to a pleasant edge for White. In part B, we'll explore typical moves and plans" and then "The critical positions reached in part C await further tests and developments".

the theoretical soundness of Black’s system

My first thought when I saw that was Mike Basman, sadly he is no longer with us.

A remarkably neutral book blurb for an upcoming book. Can you guess the opening and author?

The [OPENING] arises after the opening moves [...], and is an ideal weapon based on sound principles of fast development and seizing central space. Decades of practical testing and analysis have proved the theoretical soundness of Black’s system, and its dynamic counterattacking potential makes it a popular choice among club players and top grandmasters alike.

[AUTHOR] is a lifelong [OPENING] player as well as an experienced chess trainer, making him the ideal guide to this opening. [OPENING BOOK] offers a complete repertoire for Black in the [OPENING], including secondary recommendations against certain key variations. With top-class analysis, novelties galore and thoughtful explanations, this book provides everything you need to learn and play the [OPENING] with success.

Answer (select text to reveal):Play the Sveshnikov, by Milos Pavlovic, Quality Chess 2023.
