Also of interest are Gustafsson's work on Chessable. The Short and Sweet version has lines that are new to me. The full course promises to be good. His course provides a full repertoire against 1.e4.

Nowadays authors provide their current repertoire. This will differ in line selection from other authors, or themselves at earlier times. By way of example, Fighting the Ruy Lopez by Pavlovic followed 8.a4 b4. The same for Gustafsson for Chess24. However his Chessable work goes with 8.a4 Bb7.

One can easily be caught out with a book that has a repertoire choice that differs from your own. Sometimes I miss encyclopedic coverage of an opening. For that one still has ChessPublishing!

The Modernized Marshall Attack by Milos Pavlovic is available at Forward Chess:

https://forwardchess.com/product/the-modernized-ma

They show that it was released in 2020. I already have Fighting the Ruy Lopez (FTRL), 2009, from the same author. I am only now looking at the Marshall from the Black side. I'm using FTRL and consider it a good product.

Jan Gustafsson has an excellent video presentation on the Marshall, with accompanying text, at Chess 24. However, I may not re-subscribe to Chess 24.

My third, major source are the annotated games at Chess Publishing.

Has anyone purchased Pavlovic's recent work on the Marshall? I'm sure it will be good. However, I'm not sure how much it will differ from his 2009 effort. Many ForwardChess books have an opening index that is viewable online, but not this one.
