I'm a simple man: I see Matthew Sadler as author, I buy the book.

New Book: Re-Engineering the Chess Classics

I recently received an email from New in Chess announcing the release of their new book, Re-Engineering the Chess Classics by Matthew Sadler and Steve Giddins.  The authors use modern engines to reexamine forty classic games, including the Evergreen Game, the Lasker-Napier slugfest from Cambridge Springs 1904, and the sixth game of the 1960 Botvinnik-Tal world championship match, which is shown in detail in the excerpt.  Based on the book's introduction, the emphasis will be on the ability of the latest engines to suggest new strategies and plans in these classics, rather than just showing tactical errors, which engines have been able to do for many years.
