Kramnik is likely referring to databases that compile games played by chess engines, which are not included in TWIC. Popular resources for such data include the Lichess Elite Database, CCRL (Computer Chess Rating Lists), and TCEC (Top Chess Engine Championship) archives. These platforms collect and analyze engine games, providing detailed statistics. For regularly updated engine games, services like PlayChess or Chessify are also valuable. If anyone has more suggestions, please share!

Kramnik likely uses databases like ChessBase or the Playchess server, which track engine vs. engine games. You can also check out FICGS, InfinityChess, and TCEC for downloading engine games and accessing similar statistics.

Hope this helps! Smiley

Kramnik had the privilege of getting access to at least 44 million games played by alphazero. 44 million games was the number given by deepmind to train 9 hours Alphazero but it most likely didn't stop with those 9 hours.
The alphazero database has never been released for the public probably because it would be commercially not interesting to do.
So the question is rather: Is it ok to use statics in a course which nobody can verify? I am inclined to say rather no. From a teacher I expect transparency and trust. I miss that here.

Maybe these were dynamic games played as a Monte-Carlo (probabilitic) evaluation of the position: the computer generates N random games and checks the final score to see what's going on. In this case, the dynamic games are lost.

Database of engine games

In a recent Chessable video course, Kramnik made repeated references to how many engine games there were from a particular position, and what the statistics were in such games.  For example, in one mainline position, he would say something like "There have been over 200,000 engine games from this position, and the statistics have been very good for Black."  Does anyone know what database he might be referring to?  TWIC doesn't include these games, does it?  Is there a similar site for regularly downloading engine games?
