Theory in the Tartakover is quite well established. Therefore if you already have a good resource - and Prusikin's book is very good - you really don't need anything else.

Needless to say, I don't follow my own advice on not needing more opening books or courses, so I don't expect anyone else to do so.

Vigorito (Chessable), Schandorff Chessable) and Marin (Modern Chess) are all very good. Inevitably for such a classical opening, there is a lot of overlap. This is clearest in the 8.cxd5 line, where not much has happened since the 1970s (Spassky forgot Geller's preparation in the famous game six against Fischer, and Geller got to use it a few months later to demolish a young Timman).

Similarly after 8.Rc1, all four sources overlap to a large extent. They vary eventually, but the differences are quite minor. It is one of the attractions of the Tartakover that there isn't usually just one playable line.

After 8.Be2 or 8.Bd3 Prusikin gives 8...dxc4, as does Schandorff. After 9.Bxc4 Bb7 10.OO Prusikin gives the less usual 10...a6, whereas Schandorff gives the more often played 10...Nbd7. Vigorito and Marin go for 8...Bb7, and if 9.Bxf6 Bxf6 10. cxd5 exd5 11.b4 they both give 11...c6 if White has played 8.Be2 and 11...c5 if White has played 8.Bd3. If you don't feel the need to go into nuances at this depth, you don't need more than one resource.

Tartakover Variation - best ressources?

Hey Folks,

there have been quite a few publishments on the Tartakover in recent times:

- GM Demuth: The Solid Queen's Gambit Declined

- GM Schandorff: Schandorff’s Complete Repertoire against 1.d4, 1.c4, and 1.Nf3

- GM Marin (Modern Chess): Queen's Gambit Declined for Black - Part 1

- GM Prusikin: Countering the Queen's Gambit
* I own that - it is excellent.

- IM Vigorito: Lifetime Repertoires: Vigorito's Queen's Gambit Declined

I do not assume there is a lunatic who owns all of these. But I would be interested in knowing which variations are covered (against the main moves 8.Bd3/8.Be2, 8.cxd5, 8.Rc1, etc.) and if there is some general overlap in the recommendations. Question for the experts out here, what course would you recommend getting?
