Meeting the Langeheinecke Defense is best accomplished as follows:

1 d4 d5 2 e4 de4 3 Nc3 Nf6 4 f3 e3 5 Bxe3

A) 5...Bf5 6 g4 Bg6 7 Nge2 c6 8 h4 h6 9 Nf4 Bh7 10 g5! hxg5 11 hxg5 with a strong attack for White.

B) 5...g6  The method suggested by MNb looks good to me.

C) 5...e6 6 Bd3 Be7 7 Nge2 00 8 00 =

I am not a BDG devotee, but not because of
declining with 4...e3. Without doing any survey
in my database, I would suggest a standard
plan: 5.Bxe3 g6 6.Qd2 (maybe 6.Bd3 is more
precise) Bg7 7.o-o-o and h2-h4-h5.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

As a BDG'er, I was wondering how people choose to meet. 1. d4 d5 2. e4 dxe4 3. Nc3 Nf6 4. f4 e3 5. Bxe3.

After this move, Black has three major variations.
(1) e6
(2) g6
(3) Bf5.

I am concerned mainly with g6 and Bf5.

It would be nice to see more on the d-pawn specials about the BDG, but perhaps I am just dreaming.
