As I indicated in another post the ChessPub.exe NT server has been attacked again and we have removed it from the network. The main site is fine (if there was a problem I wouldn't be able to write this message!) as it is on a different, and much more secure, Linux server.
It is time to move over to the PGN Archive for games downloads!

I was trying to download games today, and I got an error Asynchronous socket error 10060. Is the web site down and I just have to wait or is there something I need to do on my end.

There is not really any connection, although I am working for all three!! Smiley
The server going down at ChessPublishing.com was due to a hard disc failure (it was only working a few months!), and the time taken to get back online was because they decided to update to the latest Unix/Linux system, I believe, which necessitated some programming changes. Curiously, this problem had nothing to do with the new site design either!

I thought perhaps server downtime might have been due to "resources rationalization and reallocation" ie ... a possible merger.
