I looked up my games with ...Bh6 last night: one win, four losses, albeit against generally much-stronger opposition. It didn't make much difference whether White exchanged on h6 or I exchanged on c1. Conclusion: I don't understand how to play ...Bh6.

Tiviakov did play it - but once only, I believe. The idea is that Black exchanges White's good bishop. I have played it a few times but don't really believe in it. The problem is that if White doesn't exchange, leaving it to Black to exchange on c1, White gains a useful tempo.

I noticed recently in a Blitz game the following line:
1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 g6 5.c4 Bh6 !? or ?!

Have you ever seen this line before? Is it playable? The player with the black pieces continued (after Bxh6 Nxh6) with ..f6,..Nf7,..O-O,..b6 and..Bb7 but eventually lost. When i asked him he said that he had seen a game by Tiviakov playing this line. I have not this game in my batabase. Opinions?
