That's true.  Either way, white is better.

There's no need to lose time with Bb5+ and Be2.
5. Be2 Ktf6 ; 6. Ktc3 0-0 ; 7. 0-0 a6 ; 8. a4 Ktbd7 leads to the same position with an extra tempo for White.
5. ...Bg4 is met by 6. Ktd2

These lines begin after :
1 e4 c5
2 Nf3 g6
3 d4 Bg7
Statistics for these lines disagree between different databases , and they are rather badly covered by books on Accelerated Dragon : they get rid of them , saying they belong to Benoni or Modern
What is the current status of these lines?
Are they a valuable alternative for Black ?
I intend to experiment them , but I wish to be sure they are basicly sound , and offer Black chances of initiative

You have to just play 3...cxd4!

The most common answer is 4. dc with chances for a modest initiative, while retaining the basic Sicilian feel of the position and allowing Black some basis for counter-attack.
But there's actually no objective reason for avoiding 4. d5 with a Schmidt Benoni. White may count on a long term positional plus.
